Our special need Children; Believing in their ability to excel.
60 of our children have various special needs dawn syndrome, autistic, hearing impaired ,physically disabled ,celebral palsy or mentally handicapped. We support them in an inclusive environment, where they learn together with all other regular children. Sign language is taught to all our children this way everyone can communicate and it is a great deal of fun too, This fosters acceptance and helps breaks long held prejudices in the community about disability.
Our deaf unit has 15 children who are receiving early childhood education. 22 Deaf children have joined different deaf primary School after completing pre-schooling at the centre. They are all progressing very well in their various schools. All the children /Teachers at the centre are taught sign language for easy communication with the hearing impaired children.
Our special need children really bring out the best in us at Little Rock ,teachers often have to work way beyond their call of duty, we support families of special need children in their communities and conduct frequent home visits to help identify children who may need our help.
